What is detailing?
Detailing is the Precise renovation and protection of the various surfaces of a vehicle.

You can go to your local hand carwash, and pay around £5 to have your car cleaned [The £5 Car Scratch as dooka likes to call them], Be warned, most of these cheap car washes use harmful and corrosive products like traffic film remover to pre wash your car, this will strip any protection on the car. Dealer applied sealants can be stripped in roughly 3 washes. They also tend to use one sponge to clean the whole car, and not rinsing their sponge during the wash process either, which inflicts swirl marks, scratches and further damage to your paint work.

Detailing uses a much softer approach, using much milder wax and sealant freindly products, 2 buckets to wash, one with the suds, and one for rinsing the wash mit, An asortment of cloths to dry, polish and buff you vehicles paint, and proven products to protect your vehicle, which in turn, will help increasing it's retail value.

Is Detailing the same as Valeting?
No, it is very different. A valeter is someone who provides a service to a car owner and will clean the car so that all visible grime is removed from most areas. Some stages of the Detailers process are similar in part, but far different in terms of the level of attention paid to detail and the products and equipment used. Visibly clean is where valeting ends and detailing takes over. Sadly, as Detailing is becoming more popular there are a lot of new companies setting up and offering very poor levels of service.
The next time you wash your vehicle or have it washed take a look at your car a little closer - scrutinise the finish under bright direct sunlight or under the harsh lighting of a petrol station. Feel the paint, The next time you are in a car showroom look closely at the paintwork as the bright lights shine onto it. What do you see?

Can you apply a sealant on my new car rather than the dealers?
Yes we can. Generally a dealer won't prepare your car properly before applying their Paint Work Sealant. Which will result in a poor performance and longetivity.

dooka will prepare your car properly before applying a sealant for. Including a claying [removing contamination like brake dust, rail dust, industrial fall out etc that has bonded to the paint], We then use a rotary polisher to correct and remove swirl marks, bird lime etching, hologramms and other surface imperfections from the paint.

Once the paint has been corrected and cleaned. dooka will then apply a minimum of 2 layers of sealant, and 2 layers of wax.

What is Paint work correction?
dooka's paintwork correction process is the removal of common paint problems and defects, such as scratches, bird lime etching, swirl marks, buffer marks, micro-marring, orange peel, hologram effects. This is carried out by re-levelling the laquer by 1 or 2 microns, so that the paintwork reflects light perfectly at all angles, including direct sunlight.

I'm collecting a new car, should I get it detailed?
Contrary to popular belief, new cars rarely look their best. Despite being treated to a quick wash and polish by the dealership (which may even result in swirling and marring marks caused by wrong washing techniques). Residue from the protective film your car wears during transportation may remain. Plus your vehicle may have been stored outside for a number of months, near docks, railways and other industrial areas, being treated to a light dusting of contaminants when transported on the UK road system or by rail. Why not let Dooka make you new car look like it should.
